AI Agents Are Dragons. Ride Them or Get Burnt.

I think we have officially entered the House of the Dragon era.
If you've watched the show, you know how that world works. Whoever has the dragons wins. Not the biggest army. Not the richest family. The Targaryens took over almost an entire continent with three dragons. Kingdoms with thousands of soldiers just gave up.
AI agents are the dragons.
You don't use a dragon. You ride it.
A few years ago, if you wanted to build a company, you had to hire an army. Engineers, marketers, sales, support. Today one person with the right agents can do the work of fifty.
People keep calling AI a tool. I don't think it is. A hammer is a tool. An agent thinks, makes decisions and does the work on its own. That's a dragon. You don't use it. You ride it.
You have to claim it
In the show, a dragon doesn't belong to whoever walks up to it. You have to bond with it first. People who walk up without that bond get burnt alive.
I feel like it's the same with agents. You can't try it once, say it's hype and move on. You gotta use it every day. Give it real work. Figure out what it's good at and where it messes up. That's the bond. The people doing that right now are becoming dragon riders.
Everyone else is going to get burnt.
Getting burnt won't look like fire
It'll look like a competitor shipping in a week what takes you three months. A three-person company taking your customers. Your job quietly being done by someone else's dragon.
Nobody is going to warn you. One day the dragon is just there.
The rider still matters
Here's what people miss. The dragon has the fire, but the rider decides where it flies. And when riders get reckless and dragons start fighting dragons, the whole kingdom burns.
That's where we are right now. Fire is not the hard part anymore. Judgment is. Knowing what's worth building and what should never be burnt — that's still on us.
So don't wait to see if the dragons are coming. They're already here.
Ride one, or get burnt by one.
